With freezing temperatures across our region, Gowanda Central School District reminds families to ensure students are dressed appropriately for winter weather. Warm coats, hats, gloves, winter footwear, and layered clothing are important for student safety during travel to and from school and during outdoor activities.
We recognize that access to winter clothing can be a challenge for some families. To support students and ensure no one goes without, the following resources are available:
The Giving Table
The Giving Table is located inside the school and offers winter essentials such as hats, gloves, coats, and other needed cold weather items.
This resource is no questions asked and available for students to take what they need.
The Thrifty Panther
The Thrifty Panther provides free clothing and everyday essentials for students and families.
More information is available here: https://gowcsd.org/thrifty-panther/
Students may speak directly with a school counselor to access these resources. Families may also contact their school’s main office for assistance.
Our priority is keeping students safe, warm, and supported throughout the winter season.
