Gowanda High School sophomore Isabella Gill, a member of the Tuscarora Nation, Snipe Clan, has been selected to participate in the prestigious College Horizons Program at Dartmouth College this summer.
College Horizons is a competitive pre-college program specifically designed for Native American, Alaska Native, and Native Hawaiian students. Isabella was chosen during a record-breaking year for applications to participate in a five-day intensive “crash course” at the Ivy League campus in New Hampshire.
During the program, Isabella will work one-on-one with admissions officers from 60 of the top universities in the country. Her schedule includes completing the Common Application, drafting college essays, researching a “Top 10” list of prospective schools, and preparing for the SAT and ACT.
An aspiring Political Science major, Isabella’s selection highlights the district’s commitment to academic excellence and cultural representation.
