Gowanda Central School District is officially launching ParentSquare as our primary communication platform effective July 1, 2026. This unified system replaces multiple older communication tools to ensure that families, guardians, and student-athletes’ families receive vital district updates, emergency alerts, and classroom notices through one centralized, reliable platform.
Whether you prefer email, mobile app notifications, voice calls, or text messages, ParentSquare ensures you stay fully informed and involved in your student’s academic and extracurricular life.
How Your Account Works
To make this transition as seamless as possible, you do not need to register for a new account from scratch.
An account is automatically generated for every parent and legal guardian using the contact information currently on file in our student information system. On July 1, you will receive an invitation email or text message containing a direct link to activate your account.
Once your account is activated, we highly encourage you to:
- Download the free ParentSquare mobile application (available for iOS and Android).
- Set your individual language and translation preferences.
- Select your preferred communication delivery method and timing.
What You Can Do with ParentSquare
ParentSquare consolidates district, school, and classroom communication into a single, easy-to-use interface. Through the portal or mobile app, guardians can:
- Receive Unified Updates: Access announcements from the district office, building principals, and classroom teachers via email, text, or app notification.
- Track School Activities: View school calendars, upcoming events, and important district announcements in real time.

We respect your time and your inbox. ParentSquare allows you to fully customize how and when you receive non-emergency communications. You can choose between two primary delivery settings based on your daily schedule:

Important Note on Emergency AlertsRegardless of your chosen preference, critical notifications—such as weather-related school closures, delays, or urgent safety alerts—will always bypass the daily digest and send instantly via text, phone call, and app notification.

Because accounts are tied directly to our student information system, ensuring your contact details are accurate is critical. If your cell phone number or email address changes at any point, please contact your student’s school main office directly to update your records.
While we strongly encourage all families to utilize this platform to stay informed about critical student activities and academic updates, you have the right to opt out of receiving non-emergency notifications.
