STILL GLOWING: GMS Celebrates 50th Annual Musical with Sold-Out Performances of “Seussical Jr.”

GOWANDA, NY — The curtain may have closed last night, but the energy is still electric at Gowanda Middle School following two spectacular, sold-out performances of Seussical Jr. this past Wednesday and Thursday.

Marking the 50th Annual GMS Musical, this year’s production was a true milestone for our district. From the Jungle of Nool to the final bows, our middle schoolers brought the world of Dr. Seuss to life with a professional-level energy that honored a half-century of theatrical tradition in Gowanda.

A True “Village” Effort

While the production was proudly student-run—with students managing everything from stage cues to choreography—it truly took a village to reach this 50-year legacy. We extend our deepest gratitude to:

  • 🐾 Mr. Adam Bett for his tireless inspiration and direction.
  • 🐾 Mrs. Cindy Ripley for creating the original blueprint that put Gowanda musical theater on the map.
  • 🐾 Mr. Dave Smith for his decades of dedication; we are honored that his final musical before retirement was this historic 50th anniversary show.
